Frequently asked questions about probiotics

What time of day should I take it?

Follow the manufacturer's instructions. For the three NDS powders they say: dissolve 1 teaspoon in a glass of liquid and drink it straight away, at the start of a meal or on an empty stomach.

Does it work?

No health claims for probiotics are approved in the EU, and none of the three NDS products has itself been studied in a trial. Trials of other blends give mixed results, which you can read about on the individual product pages and in the article on probiotics and IBS. If you have persistent stomach problems, talk to your doctor.
